Potential Bidders Circle Digital+

MADRID, September 5: Six
companies, including Mediaset and News Corporation, have expressed interest in
acquiring the Spanish pay-TV business Digital+ from Grupo Prisa, the Wall
Street Journal
reported today.

Other firms said to be
circling the asset include Telefónica, France Telecom, Vivendi and Telefonos de
Mexico. The speculation led to a 3.4-percent increase in Prisa’s share price
today. Digital+, a division of Sogecable, is said to be worth more than 3
billion euros.
