PorchLight Takes on New Animated Series

LOS ANGELES, July 8: PorchLight Entertainment has entered
into an exclusive worldwide distribution, licensing and merchandising agreement
with Lincoln Butterfield Animation for the animated children’s series Tan.

Lincoln Butterfield will produce 26 half-hour episodes, each
consisting of two 11-minute shorts. Tan
will be available for a fall 2009 premiere and will target children ages 6 to
11.

In the series, a recent graduate of the Lo Fat Martial Arts
Academy and Cooking School, Tan, who is an egg, sets out to make friends, find
fortune and learn the ways of the world.

Tan was created and
developed by Lincoln Butterfield, a new animation studio founded by animator
Robert Hughes, who directed Disney’s Phineas and Ferb, and Joseph Walker. The Lincoln Butterfield core
team is rounded out by Mitch Schauer—the creator of Nickelodeon’s The
Angry Beavers—
and producer Michael
Lessa.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Lincoln
Butterfield on Tan,” said Fred Schaefer,
PorchLight’s senior VP of animation. “I love the character’s good-natured,
kid-like confidence—he’s both endearing and very funny. That, plus the
enormous talent that Lincoln Butterfield brings to the table, virtually ensures
that the series will be both a creative and commercial success.”
