NEW YORK: Ad-supported movie and TV streaming service Popcornflix is bringing 3,000-plus free titles to Apple TV.

Popcornflix’s ad-supported technology is now fully compatible with Apple TV and has become available to all of its users. Through the launch on Apple TV, Popcornflix is now available on all leading set-top boxes and gaming consoles in the U.S., as well as in more than 60 other countries.

The streaming service offers films such as Monster, The Virgin Suicides, Paranormal Activity and The Descent, among others. It also streams children’s titles, including Rugrats Go Wild and Inspector Gadget.

“I’m proud of the team here at Popcornflix for their innovation and allowing us to implement our ad-serving technology into our Apple TV app,” said David Fannon, the executive VP at Popcornflix. “From the beginning, our OTT audience has been voracious when it comes to free movies and TV, and we’re thrilled to provide our content to a whole new universe of viewers.”

For its Apple TV app, Popcornflix built its own smart client-side ad insertion technology, which will now be available on a licensing basis to third parties seeking advanced ad-serving solutions in the VOD market. Popcornflix is also available on Roku, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation, Google Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, and all leading smart TVs.
