WARSAW: Three more HBO channels in HD have been added to Poland’s Platform ‘n’, which now offers its subscribers a total of 25 high-definition networks.

Platform ‘n’ offers the best in sports, movies, 3D specials and general entertainment. Starting March 1, HBO Poland joins the lineup with the introduction of additional HD channels. These include HBO2 HD, HBO Comedy HD and Cinemas 2HD. Highlights of the new offerings include Toy Story 3, the latest season of Entourage and the premiere of Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.

In addition to have 100 percent of its subscriber base in HD, the Polish service has the highest PVR penetration in the market. All Platform ‘n’ subscribers are 3D ready and have enabled capacity to Digital Video Broadcasting–Terrestrial (DVB-T), which is currently being rolled out in the Polish market. It has also launched Poland’s first regular 3D TV service, nShow3D.

Markus Tellenbach, the president and CEO of the TVN Group, which owns Platform ‘n’, stated:  “We are pleased with the groundbreaking performance of Platform ‘n.’  Not only does Platform ‘n’ continue to dominate the satellite market in high definition channels, but the service continues to be on the cutting edge of offering new technologies.  In fact, we are pleased to report that Platform ‘n’ is the only service in Poland to offer the combination of 25 HD channels, regular 3D service, PVR and DVB-T.  The Polish satellite market is extremely competitive and it’s gratifying that Platform ‘n’ is leading the way.”
