Planet Green Lines Up Original Online Content

SILVER SPRING: This month, Discovery Communications’ Planet Green network will premiere a season of short-form content on its website, beginning with 100 Places to Remember Before They Disappear.

Premiering October 26, the show consists of 100 minute-long episodes with imagery and facts about some of the world’s most beautiful, and endangered, destinations, identified in a research study from the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change.

Other short-form series set to air on PlanetGreen.com prior to their television debut include Organic A to Z, with 26 2- to 5-minute episodes in which chef Gregory Schaefer highlights cooking with organic foods; and Bea Wildered, a 6×90-second animated series, premiering in November, about a 30-something female in New York who learns about the environment and teaches her neighbors about sustainable living. The online content slate also includes My Place, another animated series for a November debut, with 10 90-second episodes chronicling the daily struggle of a witty, charming woman trying to be more eco-conscious in a world that doesn’t always make it easy to do the right thing. Coming to PlanetGreen.com in January is the 13×90-second Fast Forward, which profiles passionate individuals doing their part to make a difference. In February, the site is set to launch the tentatively titled City Shorts, 13 90-second episodes about how the world’s largest urban centers are revolutionizing the lives of whole populations through cutting-edge technologies, transportation expansion, infrastructure reparation and more.
