NEW YORK: A slate of 14 series, specials and feature films have been acquired for the 2010 schedule of Planet Green, while its sister network Discovery Health picked up three titles at MIPTV.

Slated to premiere in the second quarter of 2010 are In Search of Perfection, seasons one and two; 30 Days, with three seasons acquired; and Famous, Rich and Homeless. The third quarter will see the launches of Coastwatch and Kill It, Skin It, Wear It.

A host of doc titles were also picked up to air in Planet Green’s Reel Impact strand. These include The Age of Stupid, Sharkwater, One Water, The Garden, Colony and Collapse, which will all make their U.S. premiere. There’s also King Corn, Big River and Health is on Our Plate.

The trio bagged for Discovery Health are 100 Orgasms a Day, premiering in the third quarter; My Child Won’t Talk, also slated for the third quarter; and Sex Robot (working title), which will debut in the fourth quarter of 2010.

“With these strong international acquisitions, Planet Green will enrich the network’s already-diverse offerings by introducing audiences to provocative stories and unique, compelling characters,” said Laura Michalchyshyn, the president and general manager of Planet Green and Discovery Health. “Discovery Health’s acquisitions will broaden the network’s strong programming base, helping to carry the network through to the upcoming transition to OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network.”
