Phillip Luff announced as SVP/GM of Animal Planet International

SILVER SPRING, January 9: Discovery Networks International
has appointed Phillip Luff as senior VP and general manager of Animal Planet
International, beginning January 29.

Luff, who will lead the global Animal Planet team from
London, will manage all aspects of the network, with a specific focus on
commercializing Animal Planet’s distribution of 195 million households outside
of the U.S. He will report to Rebecca Batties, the executive VP of creative
development and brand management for Discovery Networks International.

"Phillip's commercial experience and successful track
record of building revenue-generating programs will ensure Animal Planet
continues and capitalizes on the momentum the channel is currently generating,”
said Batties.

Luff makes the move from Japan, where he was VP and general
manager of Discovery’s business interests in the market since 2004. Prior to
that he was GM for Australia and the Pacific at Discovery Networks Asia. He
joined Discovery from Austar and XYZ Entertainment in Sydney.
