Philippines’ SkyCable Bulks Up Channel Lineup

MANILA: SkyCable, the leading cable provider in the Philippines, has expanded its channel lineup, inking carriage deals with Universal Networks International for E! Entertainment Television and Tiger Gate Entertainment for KIX and Thrill.

E! will initially be available to SkyCable’s Gold and Silver digital subscribers, delivering signature series like Keeping Up with the Kardashians, E! News and Fashion Police, plus the regional production E! News Asia. With this latest carriage deal, the channel is available to almost 16 million households in Asia.

Entertainment Television reinforces the channel’s growing popularity and appeal to both Filipino viewers and advertisers, alike," said Christine Fellowes, the managing director for the Asia Pacific at Universal Networks International. "This launch enables us to continue E!’s ground-breaking momentum in pay-TV viewer enjoyment via top-quality and up-to-the-minute Hollywood entertainment content across Asia."

With the Tiger Gate deal, meanwhile, SkyCable brings KIX, with action entertainment content, and Thrill, delivering horror movies, to its 499, Silver and Gold tier subscribers. "KIX and Thrill are unique, must-have channels that satisfy an enormous demand for this exciting content and enable audiences to enjoy the very best of these genres.
