Pecadora to Make U.S. Debut

MIAMI: The U.S. premiere of the telenovela Pecadora—which Venevision International is highlighting at the upcoming L.A. Screenings—is set for May 3 in a weekday slot on Univision.

Pecadora, starring Mexican actors Litzy Dominguez and Eduardo Capetillo and based on the original story written by the Mexican author Veronica Suarez, is slated to air Monday through Friday at 12 p.m. Produced by Venevision Productions, Pecadora recently made its debut in Panama, and has also been successful in markets such as Canada, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua.

“Thanks to its excellent story line, high quality of production and outstanding cast of brilliant actors of international fame, Pecadora has been successful in multiple Latin American markets, and we are sure it will be a favorite in the United States,” said Miguel Dvorak, the president and COO of the Cisneros Group of Companies.  “The demographics of the Hispanic population in the United States, and consequently the audience of the Univision network, is ideal for this novela, which, since its inception, was produced taking into consideration the characteristics of this market to secure its success.”

“The success of Pecadora is a sample of the capability of our production companies to elevate the quality of our offering for the L.A. Screenings,” added Cesar Diaz, the VP of sales of Venevision International. “Our clients’ response was very positive when we presented ‘Pecadora’ to them during the recent MIPTV; and now we expect to receive the same enthusiastic approval during the L.A. Screenings.”
