Peace Arch Taps Showtime Exec for Acquisitions Role

TORONTO, October 8: Peace
Arch Entertainment Group has named longtime Showtime buyer Larry Greenberg as
its senior VP of acquisitions.

Based out of the company’s
office in Los Angeles, Greenberg will report to Berry Meyerowitz, the president
of Peace Arch Home Entertainment. In his new role, he will be responsible for
accelerating the commercialization of Peace Arch’s growing film and television
library. The company has one of the largest independent feature film libraries
in the world. The ownership of a significant library allows Peace Arch to move
quickly to capitalize on both traditional media and breakthrough technologies
that create potential new high-growth markets, such as Internet video on demand
or mobile entertainment devices.

Prior to Peace Arch,
Greenberg served as the VP of acquisitions at Showtime Networks, where he was
responsible for all program acquisitions (including on-demand and digital
platforms) outside the network’s original productions and studio output deals.
Among the hundreds of titles he acquired for the network were the world
premieres of Adrian Lyne’s Lolita,
Henry Bean’s The Believer and
Allison Anders’ Emmy-nominated Things Behind The Sun. Greenberg was also instrumental in starting such
specialty programming at the network as Showtime Exposure (for documentaries)
and Laugh Out Loud (for stand-up comedy specials). He began at Showtime
Networks as a film evaluator.
