PBS’s Kerger to Chair International Emmy Gala

NEW YORK: Paula Kerger, the president and CEO of PBS, will serve as the Gala Chair for this year’s International Emmy Awards, taking place November 22 in New York City.

Kerger will speak during the opening ceremony of the 38th International Emmy Awards, which will present Emmys in ten categories. In addition, the event will present Simon Cowell with the International Emmy Founders Award and Lorne Michaels with the International Emmy Directorate Award.

Announcing Kerger’s appointment as Gala Chair, Bruce L. Paisner, the president and CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, commented: “Paula Kerger has been involved with The International Academy as a director on our board for several years and we look forward to having her as chair of this year’s Gala. As president of America’s Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), Ms. Kerger leads the organization that presents some of the United States highest-quality television.”
