Parthenon Scores New Deals for Roman Mysteries

LONDON, April
2: Parthenon Entertainment has finalized deals in the U.S. and Spain for Roman
Mysteries
.

In the U.S., Roman
Mysteries
will air on
Rainbow Media’s Family Room HD channel beginning September 2008. Parthenon has
also secured an agreement for the series in Spain with Cuatro, and is in
advanced negotiations with major Italian and French networks.

Roman
Mysteries
, commissioned
by the BBC and produced by The Little Entertainment Group (LEG), follows four
friends as they struggle to survive through one of history’s most turbulent
times. The first season garnered high ratings when it aired on BBC One and CBBC
earlier this year, and season two will air on the BBC this summer.

Cynthia
Kennedy, the director of sales and acquisitions at Parthenon Entertainment,
said: “I’m delighted but not surprised to announce these two important sales for
Roman Mysteries. In the space of six months the series has sold to, or is in
final negotiation with, broadcasters in all the major territories. It’s
testament to the high quality of the show that it has attracted the attention
of such key buyers.”

Keith Littler,
LEG’s managing director, added: “With children’s television under the
microscope it is very pleasing to see a high-end production such as Roman
Mysteries
being so well
received internationally. A core reason for partnering with Parthenon on this
venture was my belief that they have the patience, passion and drive necessary
to identify and service the right broadcasters for the series. This
announcement is great news.”
