HERTFORDSHIRE: Parthenon Entertainment has sold 80 hours of programming to leading free-TV broadcasters in Scandinavia, including Norway’s NRK.

TV10 in Sweden picked up 65 hours of blue-chip science and history series, including the 13×1-hour Sports Science, which tests top athletes performing experiments. SVT opted for seven hours, including the one-hour Cuba: Accidental Eden, about the country’s wilderness and urban landscapes.

Norway’s NRK and DR-TV in Denmark both went for the hour-long human-interest documentary Men Who Swim, about a group of middle-aged men who find success as members of Sweden’s all male synchronized swimming team. NRK also secured the rights to Parthenon’s original 13×30-minute nature series Baby Planet, while YLE in Finland picked up six hours of nature and history documentaries, including Japan’s Secret Weapon and Kingdom of the Forest, both one hour.

“We have enjoyed great success working with many of the major broadcasters throughout Scandinavia,” said Jennifer Cable, the regional sales executive at Parthenon Entertainment. “These deals reflect their different needs and requirements and the breadth of programs and genres we can offer to all our clients in these countries.”
