Parthenon Backs Bristol-Based Outfit

BRISTOL/LONDON: Parthenon Media Group has offered up financial backing to 422 South, a Bristol-based CGI animation and visual effects studio.

"Parthenon is a perfect match for us as they produce and distribute high-end factual and children’s programming," said Andy Davies-Coward, 422 South’s co-founder and creative director. "We have worked closely together over the years on our top end CGI projects as both funders and distributors on these programs."

Carl Hall, CEO of Parthenon Media Group, added: "We really appreciate the strength of the business and the innovative work 422 South is famous for. Parthenon is extremely pleased to be in partnership with the company, which will also enable us to extend our Bristol-based operations, including our wildlife film unit. In addition to financial backing, we also intend to bring 422 South into the global co-production network for the benefit of independent broadcasters and producers alike."

422 South’s client list is expected to remain the same, Davies-Coward said. "We will work as we always have with producers at the BBC, ITV and U.S. networks to create innovative CGI programming. With Parthenon’s support we plan to expand the team and attract additional top talent."
