Pan-Arab Reality Series Gets Second Order

PARIS: The reality series Stars of Science has returned with new episodes on 15 Arab channels, with the Qatar Foundation again appointing Lagardère Media Consulting to handle production and distribution for the show.

The series watches 16 young candidates, selected from a crop of 7,000 applications, as they develop their own project of innovation within a state-of-the-art workshop in Doha, Qatar. The program’s format has been extended for its second season, now consisting of nine weekly prime-time episodes, broadcast on Sundays, and 30 daily shows, to air Monday to Saturday. The ninth and final prime-time episode will air live on November 28. The finale will watch a pan-Arab jury, along with TV viewers, determine the ranking of the four remaining contestants, who will share a total prize of $600,000, with $300,000 going to the winner.

Lagardère Media Consulting, a subsidiary of Lagardère Active, set up the partnership leading to the broadcast of the series on 15 public and private channels of the Arab world: Bahrain TV, Al Mahroussa (Egypt), Dream TV (Egypt), Saudi 1 (KSA), Al Rai (Kuwait), Al Jadeed (Lebanon), Mauritania TV; Arrabia (Morocco), Oman TV, Al Jazeera Mubasher (Qatar), Qatar TV (Qatar), Sudan TV, Syria TV, Hannibal TV (Tunisia) and Yemen TV.
