NEW YORK: Entertainment One has received a second-season commitment from Syfy—in the U.S. and internationally—and Canwest in Canada on Haven.

The 13-episode second season will commence production in Nova Scotia in spring 2011 for rollout in the summer. Based on The Colorado Kid by Stephen King, the show stars Emily Rose as FBI agent Audrey Parker, who takes up residence in the small town of Haven, Maine, and soon discovers the town’s many secrets. The cast also includes Lucas Bryant and Eric Balfour, with a creative team consisting of showrunner Scott Shepherd and executive producers Lloyd Segan and Shawn Piller, as well as eOne’s John Morayniss, Noreen Halpern and Laszlo Barna.

The series premiered on Syfy U.S. in July and ended its season one run last week. In Canada, it airs on Showcase, and in other territories is rolling out on Universal Networks International’s Syfy channel. Entertainment One controls the worldwide distribution rights to the one-hour series and concluded a deal with Germany’s Tele München Group (TMG) for the free television rights in Continental Europe.
