Ovation Slates Music-Driven Programming Event

SANTA MONICA: Ovation has put in place a three-week programming event, American Revolutionaries: The Hitmakers, which looks at some of pop music’s most influential artists.

The event kicks off July 1 and runs through July 24. Justin Bua will host the event, which will feature artists such as Bruce Springsteen, D.M.C., Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Elvis Presley, Beyonce and Jay-Z.

“The artists featured in The Hitmakers have repeatedly turned popular music on its head, pushing the envelope on innovation, artistry and imagination,” said Kris Slava, Ovation’s senior VP of programming. “You think you know these stars because they are so popular, but this collection of documentaries shines the spotlight on aspects of their lives and careers that will surprise you.”
