ORF Reports MIPCOM Sales

VIENNA, October 20: The Universum strand of documentaries from Austrian pubcaster ORF
was the company’s standout offering at MIPCOM last week, generating a number of
new deals, including one with RAI.

The Italian broadcaster picked up Universum titles like Strange Encounters of the
Third Kind
, Baja—The Other
California
and The Roaring
Mountains
. In addition, Duna TV in Hungary
picked up 40 Universum
documentaries.

Other areas of the ORF slate also fared well, with MTV
Hungary picking up scripted dramas such as Love, Lies and Passion, Sugar Granny and The Christmas Dog.
First Channel in Georgia opted for the New Year’s Day Concert 2007 and a package of 40 hours of classical music.
Bacfilms in France picked up the TV and theatrical rights to Axel Corti’s
trilogy Welcome in Vienna, while
M6 bagged the films The Christmas Dog, Two Christmas Dogs and A
Real Lady
.
