Optomen Lands CEE Sales

LONDON: Optomen International has closed a slate of programming agreements across Central and Eastern Europe ahead of next week’s DISCOP market, selling more than 150 hours to the region.

Menu TV in Ukraine closed a deal for the worldwide hit Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. The broadcaster licensed both the U.K. and U.S. versions, representing 80 hours of programming plus a further eight hours of the food format Gordon Ramsay Cookalong Live.

A new Kitchen Nightmares format deal has been closed with Prima TV in Czech Republic, with RTL Croatia also taking a new option on the series. The new Czech series, currently being produced in-house by Prima, brings the total number of homegrown worldwide versions of the Kitchen Nightmares format to ten. Other format deals include TVN Poland renewing its format license for The Naked Chef. The Polish broadcaster also licensed the first season of Kitchen Nightmares USA.

TV Paprika, which broadcasts in Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia, picked up the first two British seasons of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares and relicensed the first season of The F Word. It has additionally licensed two seasons of What To Eat Now.

BBC Channels in Poland took a package of programming the includes the 12×1-hour The F Word season four, hour-long Best of The F Word special and Cookalong Live, Kitchen Nightmares USA season two and both What To Eat Now seasons. BBC Poland will also air the second season of Mary, Queen of Shops along with Mary, Queen of Shops: Vintage Edition.

New to the Optomen International slate is the second season of Channel 4’s Heston’s Feast, featuring chef Heston Blumenthal creating feasts inspired by history. The new 6×1-hour run brings the total U.K. episodes to 11.
