OMNI Announces Chinese Co-Pro

TORONTO, January 8: Rogers OMNI Television, the
multicultural Canadian broadcaster, is working with Beijing-based Western Movie
Group and Toronto’s Goldspin on the Mandarin-language drama series Once Upon
a Time in Toronto
.

With production set to begin next month, the 20×1-hour
series for Rogers OMNI.2 follows the ups and downs of a cross section of the
Chinese immigrant families living in Toronto. Once Upon a Time in Toronto was exclusively funded through OMNI's Independent
Producers Initiative, a C$32.5 million independent production fund that to date
has supported over 200 new documentary programs.
