Nominees Named for International Interactive Emmys

NEW YORK, March 4: The
nominees for the International Interactive Emmy Awards, announced today by the
International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, hail from seven
different countries, including the U.K., Australia and Canada.

There are 12 nominees in
three categories: Interactive Program, Interactive Channel and Interactive TV
Service. For Interactive Program, the nominees are The

from deMENSEN in Belgium, Guernica:

Catalunya/CCRTV Interactiva in Spain, Staraoke from Intervisio in Finland and Total Drama Island—Totally
Interactive!
from Xenophile Media in
association with Fresh TV in Canada. The contenders for Interactive Channel are
2007 Bigpond V8 Supercars from Australia, and, from the U.K., the BBC Archive
Trial, Sky Poker and WeDigTV. In the Interactive TV Service category,
meanwhile, the nominees are Doctor Who Interactive, Emmerdale, Spooks
Interactive
and The Truth About Marika.

“These programs, channels
and services illustrate the array of interactivity being offered to television
viewers worldwide via cable, satellite, mobile phones and broadband,” said
Bruce Paisner, the president and CEO of the International Academy. “We are
pleased to be honoring them for their outstanding achievements.”

The winners will be
announced at The International Interactive Emmy Awards Gala in Cannes, France,
on April 8, during MIPTV.
