Nine Network Adds New Animated Series

SYDNEY: Nine Network in Australia has given a slot to the 52×11-minute animated series GASP!, based on a series of comics from Terry Denton.

The series, aimed at 6- to 12-year-olds, is based on the GASP!, ZAPT!, SPLAT!, SQUISH!, CRASH!, CHOMP! series of comic books. SLP Productions, led by executive producer Suzanne Ryan, produced the animated series adaptation. The show premieres on Nine on February 26 at 11:30 a.m. It has also sold to Canal+ in France and Nickelodeon in New Zealand.

GASP! is undoubtedly one of the funniest cartoons I have ever had the pleasure to work on,” said Ryan. “We had an exceptionally talented team working on this for two years and we are all really proud of the crazy fish-com series we have developed and created. Terry Denton’s books were a great inspiration and we can’t wait to see it air in Australia after its debut in France and New Zealand where the series was well received and performed well.”

“Nine is delighted to announce GASP!’s broadcast in February. Suzanne Ryan and her team at SLR Productions are continuing their strong relationship with us by delivering GASP!, a first-class kid-friendly and entertaining children’s animation comedy series for ‘C” drama,” a network representative said. “GASP! is funny, energetic and heartfelt making it a series that will be enjoyed by the entire family.”
