Nicktoons to Debut Ricky Sprocket Series in U.S.

NEW YORK, January 3: Nicktoons Network will premiere the
animated comedy series Ricky Sprocket—Showbiz Boy on January 21 at 7 p.m.

The new 26-episode series chronicles the adventures of
superstar child actor Ricky Sprocket as he tries to balance family, friends and
school with the pressures of his crazy showbiz life. Created by Alison Snowden
and David Fine, the program will air regularly on Saturdays at 2 p.m., and will
also be available on-demand from Nicktoon’s website, as well as the show’s
dedicated site, www.rickysprocket.com.

The premiere episode will feature two stories: “The Screen
Kiss,” in which Ricky has to deal with his first screen kiss that happens to be
with his arch nemesis Kitten, and “Oh Hap-pee Day,” in which Ricky’s younger
sister Ethel spills her drink on him at an awards show and the press goes crazy
thinking Ricky has wet his pants on stage.

Ricky Sprocket—Showbiz Boy is produced by Studio B Productions and Snowden Fine
Animation, in association with Bejuba! Entertainment.

Ricky Sprocket’s
launch on Nicktoons Network is part of a larger international rollout across 14
Nickelodeon channels, including Nick UK and Nick Australia,” said Keith
Dawkins, Nicktoons Network’s general manager and the senior VP of Nickelodeon
programming partnerships. “Kids from around the globe can relate to Ricky, who
despite his movie star status, is an average kid above all.”
