Nickelodeon to Launch Asia-Pacific Tour for Dora the Explorer

NEW YORK/SINGAPORE/HONG KONG, March 11: Nickelodeon has announced plans to bring
the tour for “Dora the Explorer Live! Dora’s Pirate Adventure” to the
Asia-Pacific region beginning next month.

The live show
will be performed in the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore, before heading to
Australia and New Zealand. The tour will kick off on April 18 in Manila in the
Philippines and will run through April 27. Next, the tour will head to
Singapore from May 23 to June 1, and then to Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur from June 6
to June 8.

Prior to the current
Asia tour,Dora the
Explorer Live! Dora’s Pirate Adventure” has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe to
sold-out audiences. “Dora the Explorer Live! Dora’s Pirate Adventure” is fully
adapted to reflect local tastes and culture and to-date has featured casts
playing to local audiences in Israel, France, Belgium and Holland.

“Dora’s Pirate
Adventure!” is based on the hit preschool television series Dora the
Explorer
, featuring the
adventures of a 7-year-old multi-lingual heroine named Dora whose adventures
take place in an imaginative, tropical world filled with jungles, beaches and
rainforests.

“Dora’s Pirate
Adventure! Live” show is based on the original direction by Gip Hoppe, who
first worked with Nickelodeon and Live Nation on “Blue’s Clues Live!” andBlue’s Clues Live!—Blue’s Birthday Party”,
as well as the first Dora
the Explorer
live
production “Search for the City of Lost Toys.”

In advance of
the tour, Dora’s Pirate Adventure TV Movie Special will air on Nickelodeon Southeast Asia
on May 1 and May 19. To accompany the Asia-Pacific tour, there is the “Design
Dora’s Pirate Flag Contest,” which will invite kids from Singapore, Malaysia
and the Philippines to design a pirate flag for her live show. One winning
entry in each country will be produced into a flag that will be distributed to
every kid who is attending the “Dora’s Pirate Adventure Live Show.”
