MONTREAL: The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) has put an emphasis on interactive productions for MIPTV, where it will be offering digital content for sales and format licensing.

The slate leads off with Highrise/Out My Window, which has been nominated for an International Digital Emmy. The program has already been licensed to SBS Australia for its website. The project chronicles life inside the urban high-rise apartment block. Documentarian Katerina Cizek uses interactive 360-degree photography, text and music to present 49 vignettes, set in 13 cities around the world.

Another NFB interactive title, The Test Tube, has been picked up by Planet Green for its websites planetgreen.com and treehugger.com. It features Canadian environmental activist and scientist David Suzuki in an interactive parable about our species’ insatiable appetite and our crowded planet.

Further projects include My Tribe is My Life, which takes viewers into the worlds of eight music fans to explore how the Internet transforms their relationships and helps forge their identities. It focuses on how young people use the web to connect with others who share their same tastes in music, clothing, their social codes and values.

Holy Mountain! provides an interactive tour through one of the world’s great urban parks. Format licensing is available for the project, which can be tailored to explore other public spaces and landmarks.
