NFB Images Catalogue Joins Footage.net

MONTREAL: The National Film Board of Canada’s stock and archival footage unit, NFB Images, has made its entire database available on Footage.net.

The NFB Images database, which includes fully searchable text records as well as video clips, will now be available for search and screening through Footage.net. Users of the stock-footage search platform will also be able to send Zap requests directly to the NFB Images sales team. Footage.net, which currently receives more than 25,000 unique visits per month, allows researchers to pinpoint shots by date, collection and/or category, or limit searches to clip-based results only.

“We could not be happier to have NFB Images as part of our stock-footage search engine,” said Footage.net’s president, Domenick Propati. “At Footage.net, we’re focused on making footage research as simple and efficient as possible. The addition of one of the world’s most important archival and contemporary footage collections to the Footage.net search platform will greatly enhance our ability to help footage users discover the world’s best motion content as quickly and easily as possible.”

“This year we are celebrating The National Film Board’s 70th anniversary by putting a significant part of our collection online to be searched, viewed and downloaded by film producers and program makers across the globe,” commented James Roberts, the director of asset management at the National Film Board of Canada. “We are committed to providing online access to our vast archival vaults, as well as our growing collection of HD native films, and our presence on Footage.net will help us reach the widest possible audience and enhance our visibility in the global production industry.”
