NEW YORK: Next New Networks’ Indy Mogul, an online network for independent filmmakers, has produced a six-part series of co-branded HD interstitial programming, FX Reboot, to run across the Epix channel, website and on Indy Mogul’s online network.

With FX Reboot, viewers can see Backyard FX series creator Erik Beck’s HD-quality effects. The series will show aspiring auteurs how they can recreate some of the special effects featured in the Hollywood films showing on Epix, but on a budget. The partnership will leverage the Epix library of more than 15,000 films. FX Reboot will serve as bonus material for special-effects-filled films such as GI Joe, Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Iron Man, Paranormal Activity, Rambo and Son of Rambo. It will also be the first series of originally produced and branded interstitial content on Epix.

"Indy Mogul’s signature ‘how’d they do that?’ special effects approach is the perfect complement to our line-up of blockbuster films," said Emil Rensing, the chief digital officer at Epix. "With our co-branded FX Reboot bonus material, viewers can recreate the special effects they see on the screen on the cheap. This is the first custom created series on Epix to provide subscribers with an enriched viewing experience and shows our approach to bringing hit films to viewers in a new way."

"Epix viewers are spoiled for choice when it comes to enjoying high caliber entertainment and Indy Mogul is looking forward to becoming a part of that experience through the FX Reboot series," added Kathleen Grace, the VP of programming at Next New Networks. "The FX Reboot production partnership presents an opportunity for both EPIX viewers and Indy Mogul viewers to tune in to hot content on the Web and through the Epix cable channel."
