News Corp.’s Business Network Secures Carriage

NEW YORK, January 3: News Corporation’s planned business
news network has secured a distribution agreement with Time Warner Cable, the
second-biggest cable platform in the U.S., according to Dow Jones Newswires.

The proposed Fox Business Channel is intended to take on
CNBC and has been in the works for about two years. Towards the end of last
year, the New York Times reported that Comcast had agreed to carry the channel,
as had DIRECTV. No details of the Time Warner carriage or of the channel’s
expected launch have been revealed. The network is expected to be made
available to Time Warner Cable’s 13 million subscribers this year.
