New U.S. Channel to Focus Solely on International Programming

CHICAGO: Zephyr Media Group is leading a consortium of companies set to launch Vibrant TV, a U.S. channel dedicated exclusively to programming from the international market.

Vibrant TV, slated to launch in June 2012, will air blocks of programming in the genres of lifestyle, reality, series, sports and kids. Zephyr Media CEO Dan Zifkin and the new Vibrant TV acquisitions team will be on hand at MIPCOM to meet with international broadcasters and international producers. The channel will be ad-supported, available via a combination of satellite and terrestrial platforms. Zephyr Media will handle ad sales, concentrating on international-focused advertisers, such as airlines and hotels, as well as a range of globally-manufactured consumer products.

Zifkin commented: "American viewers are developing a strong appetite for programming that originates from all parts of the world that is largely being unmet by current channels. Vibrant TV has a mandate of serving as a showcase for the widest array of internationally-produced programming, providing a television window to the world for American audiences and a U.S. broadcast platform for international producers."
