New Sales Director for Australia & NZ at Turner

SYDNEY: Turner International Australia has hired Melissa Fitzgerald to serve as its sales director for Australia and New Zealand, effective April 6.

Based at the company’s Sydney office, Fitzgerald will oversee the development of Turner’s advertising sales strategies for the core channels Cartoon Network and Boomerang, as well as the slate of interactive platforms. She will work with existing and potential clients on how to leverage the Cartoon Network and Boomerang brands across multiple platforms.

Prior to joining Turner, Fitzgerald was the agency sales director at ARN Sydney, where she oversaw revenue growth for 11 national radio stations, including Mix FM, Classic Hits and The Edge. She has also worked with DMG Radio as agency client team manager for Nova 96.9 and Murdoch Magazines.

“Melissa has an impressive track record as a senior sales professional and with over nine years’ experience in this arena, Melissa’s strong media agency relationships will undoubtedly prove to be a formidable asset for our business,” said Robi Stanton, the executive director of sales and networks for Australia and New Zealand at Turner International.

Fitzgerald added, “I’m joining Turner at a very exciting time as the company has a host of dynamic initiatives in the pipeline; Asia’s first online Toon Football Tournament and the Hero Up Challenge are just two examples. It’s great to see that Turner is all about providing content solutions and partnership opportunities that really work to drive ROI for clients.”
