New Projects in Development at HIT

LONDON: The preschool series Mike the Knight and tween-skewing Kids Hate Clowns are among the new series on HIT Entertainment’s development slate.

From Lunar Jim creator Alexander Bar, Mike the Knight follows a 10-year-old boy whose mission is to protect his kingdom and make his mom proud. The series, for the preschool set, is produced in CG animation with 52 ten-minute episodes. Also in the way of preschool fare, The Real Mees focuses on central characters as they transform from cocoons into quirky personalities. Done with Waybuloo creator Dan Good, the CG-animated show centers on self belief and citizenship.

In early development from Firestep & Impossible Pictures, Kids Hate Clowns focuses on a prim and proper 13-year-old whose world is turned upside down when her three distant relatives, who just happen to be clowns, turn up on her doorstep. This comedy, for 8- to 12-year-olds, is done in 2-D animation with 52 13-minute episodes planned.

Chris Rose, the director of new content for HIT Entertainment, commented, “We are thrilled to be working with some of the best creative talent in the industry today. We have discovered some fantastic new shows that will not only perfectly complement HIT’s existing portfolio but enable us to expand our programming into a new demographic and exciting, new creative concepts.”
