New Premium Channels for Chellomedia’s Dutch Service

AMSTERDAM, September 30:
Chellomedia’s Netherlands-based premium pay-TV service has added a new movie
channel and a sports network: Film1 Action and Sport1.2.

Film1 Action will showcase
action movies, horror and mysteries. Offerings for the fall include Live
Free, Die Hard, The Bourne
Ultimatum, Saw IV, Transformers, Rush Hour 3, Disturbia
and Grindhouse: Death Proof. This is the sixth channel to be added to the
Film1 portfolio, which includes Film1.1, Film1+1, Film1.2, Film1.3, Film1HD
plus Film1 On Demand subscription VOD service, which is so far only available
to UPC cable subscribers in the Netherlands.

Film1’s Dutch sister
pay-TV channel Sport1 has also launched a new 24-hour service, Sport1.2. The
new network will highlight football, while the other six Sport1 Extra channels
will showcase additional live events.

Casper Keller, Film1’s
general manager, said, “The extension of the Film1 channel lineup enables us to
offer our subscribers a distinct new channel, which will be extremely popular
with our action and horror fans. It also allows us to program our existing
multiplexes more distinctively, which will be very popular with our
subscribers.”

Jeroen Oerlemans, the
general manager of Sport1, added, “This latest launch is a popular one with our
subscribers since it gives Sport1 the ability to offer not only more live
events but also offer our subscribers a much greater choice at the same time.”
