New MD in Place at Al Jazeera English

DOHA: As managing director of Al Jazeera English, Al Anstey takes on responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the news channel across its 65 international bureaus.

Anstey was one of the founders of AJE and was a key member to the channel’s startup team. He ran AJE’s news department after the launch in November 2006 until earlier this year, when he took on the role of director of media development for the network. AJE is currently broadcast to more than 100 countries around the world.
