New L&M Deals for Jungle Book

HYDERABAD/MAINZ: DQ Entertainment International and ZDF Enterprises have secured new licensing and merchandising deals on their co-production of The Jungle Book.

Beginning in 2011, Universal Trends will roll out products based on the show in German-speaking territories, including figurines, puzzles, games and outdoor toys. "We are convinced that the worldwide popular characters of The Jungle Book will come to new life in the creative merchandising ideas of Universal Trends," said Sylvia Brucker, director of merchandising at ZDF Enterprises.

In Israel, DQ has announced that Jungle Book branding will appear on variety of Nestle branded products. The agreement also includes a specially commissioned sticker collection be distributed in up to 50,000 cereal multipacks of Honey Nut Cheerios. Plus, in a deal with Burger Ranch, Jungle Book related products will be available from all Burger Ranch stores as either free promotional gifts or pre-selected purchased items. "The Jungle Book as a brand has tremendous profile and recognition worldwide and our licensing agreements with Nestle and D&C endorse this fact," commented Tapaas Chakravarti, chairman and CEO of DQE. "A number of similar agreements are currently under negotiation as we look to develop new and multiple revenue streams for DQE."

The show is a co-production of DQ, ZDF,  ZDF Enterprises, TF1 and Moonscoop.
