New Latin American Sales for BBC’s Planet Earth

RIO DE JANEIRO, September

natural-history series Planet Earth with broadcasters across Latin America.

The latest Latin American
broadcasters to bag the 11-part series are Tele Doce (Uruguay), Canal 11
(Honduras), Canal 11 (Mexico) and Teletica (Canal 7). These new deals confirm
the series as the most successful natural history title BBC Worldwide Americas
has sold in Latin America, with previous sales including TVN (Chile), Globo
(Brazil) and Ecuavisa (Ecuador), bringing the total Planet Earth sales in the region to 12 over the past year.

The head of BBC’s Natural
History Unit, Neil Nightingale, commented: "It’s always inspiring to know
that our programs are watched by audiences around the planet. Whether it is the
study of wildlife or land, we aim to bring a greater understanding of our
fascinating world to everyone who lives on it. I hope that audiences in Latin
America will have the opportunity to share in our programming for centuries to
come."
