New Head of Entertainment at Endemol UK

LONDON: Endemol UK has promoted former deputy creative director Nick Mather to the role of head of entertainment.

Mather will have oversight for the creation of new entertainment programming, leading the U.K. creative team. He will also be tasked with managing the relationship between Endemol UK and Endemol USA. Mather, who takes up the role with immediate effect, previously worked alongside the creative teams in the U.S. in developing 101 Ways to Leave a Game Show. He also devised the format for The Whole 19 Yards. His other creative credits include Endemol UK’s daytime hit Pointless, Goldenballs and The Kids Are All Right. Mather will report to Richard Osman, the creative director at Endemol UK.

Osman commented: "Nick is a unique talent who consistently creates, contributes to, and sells, big entertainment formats. I’m delighted that he’s making the step up to Head of Entertainment, and I’m looking forward to whatever his twisted mind comes up with next."

Mather added: "Our U.K. creative team is among the best in the business and joining forces with our U.S. counterparts has produced an ideas hothouse that is already paying significant dividends. This partnership places Endemol UK in a unique position in the market and it is something we plan to continue building on."
