LONDON: As executive director of international scripted programming at Endemol, Naomi Joseph will be responsible for coordinating and driving the company’s growing portfolio of scripted formats.

Joseph, a former senior executive at The Walt Disney Company and FremantleMedia, will report to Martha Brass, the managing director of international operations. Joseph will work to strengthen the network between the company’s creative, production and sales personnel across the group.

Endemol has expanded its scripted programming in recent months through the acquisition of leading production companies such as Tiger Aspect and Darlow Smithson in the U.K., Weit Media in Russia and Wiedemann Berg Television in Germany. This follows the acquisition of Australia’s Southern Star in early 2009.

Brass commented: “Through organic growth and acquisition Endemol has now established itself as a leading global producer and distributor of scripted programming and we fully intend to build on this. Having someone of Naomi’s caliber and experience will be an enormous asset as we continue to pursue this growth strategy and I’m very much looking forward to having her on the team.”

Joseph added: “This is a really exciting opportunity. Endemol is a formidable international force in scripted programming and has the creative talent and production resources to continue its rapid growth and expansion in this area. I very much look forward to working alongside the company’s talented teams around the world to grow the business further.”
