New EVP for Comedy in Place at NBC

UNIVERSAL CITY: NBC has tapped Tal Rabinowitz for the role of executive VP of comedy programming, effective early June.

Rabinowitz replaces Jeff Ingold, the executive VP of comedy programming for NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios, who is departing the company. Rabinowitz takes over in early June, coming from a previous post as the senior VP of comedy development and digital programming for Sony Pictures Television. She was also the VP of comedy development at Sony prior to this.

“In working closely with Tal over the past few years, I found her to be one of the smartest, brightest comedy executives in the business who is also universally embraced by writers, producers, agents, and talent,” said Bob Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC Entertainment. “She is exactly the kind of creative executive to guide our comedy development as we plot the future of NBC.”
