New Disney Channel Comedy in the Works

BURBANK: Debby Ryan of The Suite Life on Deck is starring in the new comedy Jessie, slated to launch this fall on Disney Channel.

Ryan (16 Wishes) will play an idealistic Texas teen who moves to New York City and becomes a nanny for a high-profile family. Starring alongside Ryan are Kevin Chamberlin (Broadway’s The Addams Family), Peyton List (27 Dresses, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules), Karan Brar (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules), Cameron Boyce (Grown Ups) and Skai Jackson (Royal Pains).

Jessie was created by Pamela Eells O’Connell (Family Matters, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, The Suite Life on Deck), who serves as executive producer. The series is from It’s a Laugh Productions.
