New Debuts for Telemundo Novelas

MIAMI: Telemundo Internacional’s Cruel Love has made its debut in Turkey on Star TV, while Generation Y premiered in Romania on Acasa TV.

The telenovela Cruel Love, filmed in locations around Miami in HD, debuted in the 8:45 p.m. slot on Star TV in Turkey. The story tells of two lovers who are cousins. They belong to wealthy families and have dedicated their lives to having fun and making risky bets. The novela, written by Juana Uribe and Andrés Salgado, has been sold in more than 20 countries including Mexico, Bulgaria, Moldova, Paraguay, Armenia and Romania, among others.

Generation Y tells the story a beautiful young woman, whose life changes when her mother is deported. She is forced to move to Mexico City and live with her rich aunt, and now must confront a world of excesses and temptations. The telenovela has achieved strong results in territories such as Spain, Hungary, Macedonia, Bolivia, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. Melissa Pillow, Telemundo Internacional’s director of sales for Europe, commented: “Generation Y is an amazing product because it is designed to reach both young and adult audiences, focusing on issues that affect both groups in modern times. Therefore, buyers in Eastern Europe, like Acasa TV, have showed great interest for this production, which attracts various demographic groups that can identify with the story.”
