New Deals for Life with Derek

TORONTO, October 3:
Shaftesbury Films has signed up VRT in Belgium for the first three seasons of
its hit kids’ comedy Life with Derek, which has also scored a number of renewals in territories such as
France, Israel and Japan.

VRT has acquired the
free-TV rights for the series, which can be seen in more than 120 countries
worldwide and has been translated into 19 languages. Shaftesbury Sales Company
also completed renewals for a fourth season of the live-action series with
France 2, Boomerang in the U.K., Noga in Israel, Daro in Central and Eastern
Europe, Selecta-Vision in Spain, VRAK.TV in French-speaking Canada and Disney
Channel in the U.S., Italy, Germany, Latin America, Portugal and India. Disney
Channel in Japan and France have both signed up for a third season of Life
with Derek.

“Life with Derek continues to speak to audiences the world over,”
said Shane Kinnear, the VP of marketing, sales and digital media at Shaftesbury
Films. “We are thrilled to broaden the scope of the series’ audience with the
addition of VRT, bringing the total number of broadcast outlets to more than
30.”
