LOS ANGELES: The new reality series Same Name, which sees celebrities trading places with strangers bearing their same name, has been picked up by CBS for its summer schedule.

Each one-hour episode watches as a well-known personality switches places with a person who has the same name as them. For one week, the star and their counterpart live in each other’s homes, meet and interact with family and friends, all in an effort to experience how the other lives. The pilot episode features David Hasselhoff heading to a small town in Texas to trade lives with an electrical technician/landscaper.

"They may have the same names but their lives couldn’t be more different," said Jennifer Bresnan, CBS’s executive VP of alternative programming. "Walking in each other’s shoes and experiencing their home life, work and other activities reveals moments of humor, laughter and unexpected emotion."
