New Additions to Master Class Lineup for BWTVF

TORONTO, April 9: Jason Katims,
the executive producer and showrunner of NBC’s Friday Night Lights, and Alan Poul, the executive producer of CBS’s
upcoming Swingtown, will join
the roster of industry executives who will be participating in the Master Class
sessions at this year’s Banff World Television Festival (BWTVF).

The BWTVF takes place at
the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Alberta, Canada, from June 8-11. The Master
Class sessions showcase the industry's top television creators in intimate
interviews that focus on the development and production of their series and
provide the opportunity for a dialogue between the "Master" and the
audience.

Katims’ other credits
include Relativity, which he
created and wrote for; Roswell,
which he developed, produced and wrote for; My So-Called Life, a few episodes of which he wrote; and Boston
Public
, which he co-wrote.

In addition to serving as
executive producer, Poul also directed the pilot for Swingtown, which premieres May 29 on CBS. Previously he
served as the executive producer for HBO’s Six Feet Under, on which he made his directing debut. Poul also
directed two episodes of the HBO/BBC series Rome, which first aired in October of 2005, and
directed two episodes of the series Big Love.
