Network Ten Offers Ad-Supported Downloads of Hit Comedy

SYDNEY, September 5: Network Ten has said it will offer
free, advertising-supported downloads from its popular improv comedy show Thank
God You're Here
.

Viewers will be able to access each week's best Thank God
You're Here
scenario from midnight on the
night of broadcast. The downloads will be available from the new Thank
God You're Here
website, www.tgyh.com.au.
They can be viewed by online streaming on PCs, or downloaded to portable
devices, including iPods and Sony’s PSPs.

“We think viewers will find downloads of program segments,
rather than complete episodes, of considerable appeal and demonstrably
different to the television experience,” said Damian Smith, the general manager
of digital media at TEN. "Four-to-eight minute packages are ideal 'snack
TV', allowing viewers to revisit their favorite moments on the go."

The initiative follows the online success of the season one
final episode, which was downloaded more than 20,000 times. "That
reinforces our confidence that viewers who are highly engaged with a program
will seek out additional opportunities to experience it."
