Neptuno Films Adds Asian Animation to Slate

BARCELONA, July 12: Neptuno Films
has taken on selected distribution rights to the 3-D animated preschool series Katakune, a
co-production between Singapore’s Character Farm and China’s Wogee Toons.

The 52×11-minute episodes or 260×2-minute episodes are scheduled to be
completed by October. Neptuno Films will exploit
the rights outside of Asia and North America, which will be handled by
Six-Six-Eight on behalf of Character Farm. Wogee Toons, which operates
exclusively in China, has secured a deal with CCTV, with provincial stations to
be attached soon. YoYo TV in Taiwan and Shin Broadband Internet Company from
Thailand are also on board.

Neptuno Films will co-ordinate worldwide merchandising and licensing
operations with Character Farm, who introduced the new lineup of products at
the forthcoming Hong Kong Licensing Show. BrandElite Licensing will launch the
merchandising and licensing program for Katakune in the pan-China region,
including Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.
