NBCU Sets Up Polish Operations

WARSAW, August 21: To expand its channel growth in Poland,
NBC Universal’s Global Networks division has established an office in Warsaw,
which will be led by Arek Taciak.

Taciak, who has been appointed as the channel manager for
NBCU Global Networks for Poland, will be responsible for the distribution of
the entire portfolio of NBCU channels in Poland—including SCI FI Channel,
Universal Channel, Hallmark Channel, Movies 24 and KidsCo—supported by
Chellozone (Hallmark) and Viasat (KidsCo). Taciak will report to Beata Stepien,
the channel director of NBCU Global Networks for Central and Eastern Europe.

Joining Taciak will be Ewa Bolesta, the newly appointed
marketing communications manager for Poland. Taciak and Bolesta will help to
drive the business goals for the channel brands in Poland. Global Network’s
London-based commercial and network development team will continue to work
closely with the Central and Eastern Europe team and oversee the distribution
strategy in Poland.

Over the next two to three years, Global Networks, under the
leadership of Roma Khanna, the president of
global networks and digital initiatives, plans to significantly boost the
revenues of its international cable channels, including the SCI FI Channel,
13th Street, Studio Universal, Universal Channel, Hallmark Channel, Movies 24,
Diva TV and KidsCo channel brands.

Colin McLeod, the managing director for Central and Eastern
Europe at NBC Universal Global Networks, commented, “I am delighted to unveil
the new Poland-based offices for NBCU Global Networks, which brings together an
exceptional team which is perfectly positioned to drive our ambitious channels
expansion plans over the next 2 to 3 years. I am truly excited to work with
this world-class talent to deliver on our vision of growth.”
