NBCU Bolsters Global Networks Team

LONDON, May 12: Martin
Irusta has been appointed to the newly created position of senior VP of
programming and acquisitions at NBC Universal’s Global Networks division,
effective immediately.

Based in London, Irusta
will work directly with channel managing directors and local programming teams
to oversee and guide the content and programming strategy of existing channels,
while also developing and implementing strategies for new channel launches. He
is also charged with oversight of the global acquisitions team, as well as the
investment in new and original productions, commissioned product and any
in-house production of full-length programming intended for global use.

Irusta has served as the
senior VP and deputy managing director of Fox International Channels France
since 2005, and before that as the VP of programming acquisitions and business
development for the group.

Roma Khanna, the president of global networks and digital
initiatives at NBC Universal International, to whom Irusta will report,
commented: “We are delighted to welcome Martin to the team. His wide global
experience in programming and acquisitions will be a great asset to our growing
Global Networks brand portfolio. His role will be pivotal to our ongoing
aggressive channels expansion plan.”
