BURBANK: Angela Bromstad has said that she will step down as president of prime-time entertainment at NBC and Universal Media Studios.

The news comes just a few days after Comcast received regulatory approval for its deal to buy 51-percent of NBC Universal from GE. Comcast has already revealed an initial leadership structure under CEO Steve Burke (who replaces Jeff Zucker at the helm of the company). Robert Greenblatt, the former head of programming at Showtime Networks, will become the chairman of NBC Entertainment, responsible for all of the network’s entertainment programs and its production studio.

Bromstad revealed her intention to leave the company in a memo to staffers. It is not clear when her last day with NBCU is. She joined the company in 1994.
