Nat Geo White House Doc Scores Presales

LONDON: Inside the Obama White House, a National Geographic Television production for PBS, has secured a number of presales around the world, including in Australia, Ireland and Brazil.

National Geographic Television International has licensed the doc to Network 10 Australia, RTE Ireland, Televisio de Catalunya Spain, TVP2 Poland, SVT Sweden, DR Denmark, VRT Belgium, RTP Portugal, Metro News Indonesia and Rede Record Brazil. The doc was filmed over a five-month period, following the President, via his official photographer, into key political and social situations. It will be delivered to broadcasters later this summer.

Anna Fuge, VP of sales at NGTI, said: "The amazing level of access granted to the trusted National Geographic production team has ensured that Inside the Obama White House will be a landmark, must-see program wherever it is aired and it will undoubtedly remain as an important reminder of this historic first presidential term for years to come. While there have been some other Obama shows out there, this is the only one to follow all facets of the President’s life for such an extended period—and through the unique perspective of his official photographer, who is constantly by his side, through much of his professional and home life. The interest in this title was very strong from the outset and the early rushes only served to demonstrate that a truly unique and fascinating look at both the man and the White House was being captured on film.”
