Nat Geo to Air Rare JFK Archive Footage

WASHINGTON, D.C.: The Lost JFK Tapes: The Assassination, a two-hour documentary that features a wealth of rarely seen news footage, is to air on National Geographic Channel on November 23, in conjunction with the anniversary of the assassination of the former U.S. president.

The documentary contains news footage, radio reports, audio recordings and home movies that piece together the events of the day Kennedy was shot, November 22, 1963. The material was first stored by local news stations in Dallas/Fort Worth, and was preserved by The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, which is dedicated to chronicling the life, death and legacy of president Kennedy. The detailed timeline plays out over two hours in The Lost JFK Tapes: The Assassination

"While some of this footage has been seen before, I have never seen it put together in such a riveting, compelling manner…" commented Gary Mack, curator of The Sixth Floor Museum. "Watching this film, you feel like you are actually transported back to that fateful day, in real time, and witnessing history live."
